Unit 15C Tier II Permit Moose Hunt To Close On Oct. 31

TM549 Season Closure

(Homer) – The November season of state Tier II permit hunt TM549 for moose in Unit 15C will close at 11:59 P.M. on Friday, October 31, 2025. All other moose hunting seasons in Unit 15 are unaffected by this Emergency Order.

The Alaska Board of Game established a Tier II moose permit hunt south of Kachemak Bay which is administered by quota to prevent overharvest. With limited population data, the department has set a harvest quota at 3 bulls based on historic sustainable harvest. As of September 30, 2025, 3 bulls have been taken in this hunt. No further harvest is warranted from this population.
