
Unimak Island Caribou Hunt Will Open On November 15

Winter Season for Unimak Island Caribou Hunt RC205 Opens November 15
(King Salmon, Alaska) – The Alaska Department of Fish and Game will reopen the Unimak Island caribou hunt (RC205) in Game Management Unit 10 at 12:00 am on November 15, 2025. The harvest quota of 100 caribou was not met during the fall season. The winter season will close on December 31, 2025, at 11:59 pm for nonresidents and March 31, 2026, at 11:59 pm for residents, or until closed by emergency order. To participate, hunters must possess a valid 2025 Alaska state hunting license and a state registration permit (RC205) available at the King Salmon ADF&G office and online. Hunters will be allowed to take 3 caribou but must be in possession of an RC205 registration permit for each caribou. The RC205 permit is not valid for Adak Island.
Successful hunters are required to report to King Salmon ADF&G office (907) 246-3340 within two days of killing a caribou. All permit reports must be returned to ADF&G, regardless of success, within 15 days of the close of the season. Reports can be submitted by mailing paper reports, completed online at:https://secure.wildlife.alaska.gov/index.cfm?fuseaction=interperm.enter_report_hunterid, in person at any ADF&G office, or by phone to King Salmon ADF&G office (907) 246- 3340.
