JUNEAU, Alaska, March 14, 2022—The Tongass National Forest is requesting expressions of interest (RFEI) for providing outfitter or guide services in the Juneau, Admiralty Island, Hoonah, and/or Sitka area by April 6, 2022. This is an inquiry, not a formal offering, to determine whether competitive interest exists that would prompt a prospectus.

The two types of services and areas being considered are:

  • Floatplane landing tours on freshwater lakes to access National Forest System lands for short, guided hikes. Lake areas proposed are within approximately 90 miles of Juneau, AK and outside of designated wilderness areas.
  • Outfitting services to rent and deliver camping and outdoor recreation gear to forest visitors to cabins and remote beach locations within Admiralty Island National Monument and the Juneau, Hoonah and Sitka Ranger Districts.

This RFEI is offered to interested individuals, businesses, or organizations with the financial and technical capability to provide services to the public. Please express your interest by submitting a brief written response to Harry Tullis at harry.tullis@usda.gov or to the following address:
