New Mexico Hunter Charged With Alaska Licensing Violations

  • Dispatch Text: Wildlife troopers in Anchor Point conducted a residency investigation in the Homer area. Wildlife troopers learned that a New Mexico resident may be obtaining Alaska resident hunting privileges illegally. Investigation determined that William A. Miller 41 yoa of Artesia, New Mexico had obtained Alaska hunting & sportfishing licenses in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 when he did not meet the definition of an Alaska resident for hunting and fishing purposes. Miller was charged in Homer Court with Multiple offenses including false statement on a license application, failure to purchase non-resident locking tag, non-resident take game without a guide, unlawful possession / transportation of game, failure to affix locking tag, seasons and bag limits for caribou, seasons and bag limits for brown bear and seasons and bag limits for goat.  Arraignment on all charges is set for April 23rd in Homer Court.
