
Mountain Goat Hunt Closing In Unit 1C’s Point Windham Zone
Point Windham Zone Closed to Mountain Goat Hunting in Unit 1C
Douglas – Biologists with the Alaska Department of Fish & Game in Douglas announce an early closure to the mountain goat hunting season under the state registration permit hunt RG013, for that portion of Unit 1C north of Windham Bay, west of Spruce Creek at the head of Windham Bay, and south of Endicott Arm and Holkham Bay.
This portion of the Unit 1C Endicott Arm hunt has a small number of goats that can support the harvest of 1 goat point or 1 animal. As of September 5, 2025, one male goat was harvested in this area. Thus, the area is being closed by Emergency Order effective at 11:59 pm, Saturday, September 6, 2025.
An Emergency Order (R1-9-25) was issued that closes the mountain goat season in this area on Saturday, September 6, 2025 @ 11:59 pm.
The remaining area of registration mountain goat hunt RG013, and all other mountain goat hunting regulations in Unit 1C remain unchanged and are not affected by this Emergency Order.
