Kenai Fjords National Park Closes Exit Glacier Area to Snowmachine Use

Date: April 20, 2026

SEWARD, Alaska— Kenai Fjords National Park has closed the Exit Glacier developed area to snowmachine use due to recent warm temperatures and snowmelt.

The closure includes the Exit Glacier Road within park boundaries, parking areas, the designated route through the campground to Exit Creek, and travel within Exit Creek.

The area will open when snow depth, snow density, and frozen soil conditions are sufficient to support safe snowmachine use.
