Board Of Game Requesting Public Committee Members For Sheep Management Working Group

The Alaska Board of Game’s Committee on Unit 19C Dall sheep management is soliciting names of individuals interested in serving as public members on a working group. Specifically, the committee is looking for individuals based on the following representation:

  • Unit 19C, fall season Dall sheep resident hunter.
  • Unit 19C, winter season Dall sheep subsistence hunter.
  • Guide with Dall sheep hunting experience in Unit 19C.
  • Transporter with experience in Unit 19C during Dall sheep season.
  • McGrath Advisory Committee.
  • One or more of the following fish and game advisory committees: Anchorage, Fairbanks and Matanuska Valley.
  • Unit 19C private landowner.
  • Non-hunting use of Dall sheep in Unit 19C.
  • Resident of Nikolai if not selected for any of the interests listed above.

Public members seeking to serve on the working group to represent these interests are asked to submit a request in writing no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2023. Requests can be submitted online at, or faxed to 465-6094. 

Following the December 18, 2023 deadline, the committee will meet via teleconference to review letters of interest and to determine the public membership.
