Board Of Game July 20 Meeting Will Discuss Dall Sheep, Nelchina Caribou Management

Notice is given that the Alaska Board of Game (Board) will hold a non-regulatory, meeting via web conference at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2023.  The special meeting has been called for the purpose of addressing the following administrative topics:

  • Formation of a board committee with authority to form a working group for the purpose of making recommendations to the Board for future management of Dall sheep in Unit 19C.
  • Assign Board member to serve on the Big Game Commercial Services Board; and
  • Letter to the Federal Subsistence Board regarding federal Nelchina caribou hunts. 

The special meeting and the topics were requested by two Board members under the authority of Alaska Statute 16.05.310.

The board will accept written public comment on the above-mentioned administrative topics, due no later than Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Written comments may be submitted on the Board’s website at www.boardofgame.adfg.alaska.gov or faxed to (907) 465-6094. If the board chooses to form a committee, the public will have opportunity to provide written comments on the topic of sheep management in Unit 19C during the committee process.
