ADFG To Host Online Sockeye Fishing Forum

Statewide) – The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) Division of Sport Fish, will be hosting an online fishing forum titled, “Sockeye Salmon Fishing 101,” on the Alaska Department of Fish and Game YouTube channel. The presentation will cover popular locations on the road system to fish for sockeye and the basic gear types and techniques to use when targeting sockeye. This fishing forum will be available on YouTube on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at 6:05 p.m. ADF&G staff will be available to answer any questions in real-time from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the YouTube chat and in the Facebook event chat.

Looking to have the most interactive experience possible? Visit the ADF&G-wefishak Facebook page, and join the watch party event at the scheduled date and time above. The link to the YouTube video will be posted in the event after a brief live introduction, and viewers will be encouraged to click that link and watch the video. Questions about the video can be posed in the event discussion during the entire watch party, or on the YouTube chat. Questions will be answered as they are received. After the YouTube video concludes, the presenter will go live again and answer any remaining questions and give some additional resources for viewers. This is a free event for anyone wishing to watch and ask questions.
