Online Fishing Forum: Beach Fishing for Halibut on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula
(Statewide) – Do you want to get some halibut in your freezer this summer, but don’t have a boat to go out in? If so, this presentation might be the perfect one for you! The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G), Division of Sport Fish, will be hosting an online fishing forum titled, “Beach Fishing for Halibut on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula” on the Alaska Department of Fish and Game YouTube channel. This 20-minute fishing forum will help you learn how to identify halibut, which beaches to try, which gear you need (including bait), and what timing and tides you have the best chance of catching a halibut on. The presentation will be available on YouTube on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. ADF&G staff will be available to answer any questions in real-time on the YouTube chat from 7:00-7:20 p.m. and will be available to reply to questions in the comments following the presentation. The presentation will then remain on the ADF&G YouTube channel and can be viewed any time after the premiere.
