Game Management Unit 14A Goat Registration Permits RG890 & RG891 available October 2, 2026

(Palmer) – Registration mountain goat hunting permits (RG890 and RG891) for Game Management Unit 14A will be available on October 2, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in person at the Palmer Department of Fish and Game office or online at http://hunt.alaska.gov.

As of September 30, 2026, 6 billies and 1 nanny have been harvested in the Chugach Mountains drawing permit hunts DG890 and DG891. Based on survey information collected in July, this year’s harvest quota for mountain goats in Unit 14A is 12 goats of which up to 4 can be nannies.

Drawing permit hunts DG890 and DG891 close on September 30. Given the number of goats still available for harvest, biologists have determined that registration permits will be made available to increase harvest opportunity. Permits will be available for resident and nonresident hunters.

Season dates for the registration hunts are October 2–October 31. Successful hunters must report their harvest within two days online at http://hunt.alaska.gov, by phone (907-746-6300), or in person at the ADF&G office in Palmer. Hunters who report by phone must also mail or bring their permit reports to the Palmer ADF&G office. Successful hunters must also bring the horns to an ADF&G office along with the harvest report within 10 days of harvest to be sealed.

Unsuccessful hunters or those who did not hunt must report within 15 days of the close of the season. Seasons may close earlier by emergency order if quotas are reached. Check for emergency orders online at https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/.
