We have an unobstructed view of Kachemak Bay and the Glaciers on the southern shore and to be on the “Bench” where Spring arrives 3 weeks (or more) earlier than the higher elevations….and that’s exactly what we have at Crane’s Rest. Our 62 foot deck has protected inset patios at both ends where you can have your morning coffee, visit with your hosts and/or other guests and watch the wildlife or just enjoy the view of the bay. In recent years we have had at least one cow moose with her calves in the area around Memorial Day as well as a nesting pair of Sand Hill Cranes that bring their colts to our yard to feed.
We offer a hearty full breakfast at 8:00 am, and for all you early risers we have coffee available at 7:00 am. Our dining room and kitchen are located on the second floor along with our 62 foot deck to give you breathtaking views of Kachemak Bay and Grewingk Glacier. If you are leaving early to go on a excursion let us know the day before and we will prepare a to go breakfast for you that can be heated up in the microwave. All rooms are non smoking but smoking is allowed outside
