White Bear Lake, MN –  “The aliens have landed…, now what?”  Wildlife Forever, in partnership with the USDA Forest Service, unveil the new Clean Drain Dry Rapid Response Communication Kit to help communities with invasive species. Informing the public is critical in slowing the spread and the ready-made communication tools are designed for immediate distribution or can be customized to local needs.

“The spread of invasive species continues but despite a lake getting infested, it’s still critically important to slow the spread because new species, diseases and viruses are knocking on the door,” said Pat Conzemius, President & CEO of Wildlife Forever.

Prevention is still the best way to slow the spread and this Rapid Response Kit is designed to do this in two ways:

  • Send out an urgent warning that a local lake has been infested with a specific Aquatic Invasive Species.
  • Educate the affected public as to what they can – and should – do to help prevent the further spread of the species.
Crafted in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, the new Clean Drain Dry Rapid Response Communication Kit gives agencies, organizations and communities across the country the tools to quickly communicate about an infestation.  The kit provides a turnkey strategy with all new assets tailored to a “warning” message. The kit has resources such as press releases, PSA’s for traditional, digital and social media platforms – including video content and radio spots.  With this kit you can quickly and easily create awareness of an infestation and an urgent call-to-action to the community surrounding the infestation. Do your part, spread the word, and always Clean Drain Dry.  Download and Preview the Kit here: Rapid Response Communication Kit. “In today’s media and technology driven world, a comprehensive communication and prevention strategy needs to inform and educate people using multiple platforms. The kit can help by reminding people to check their equipment but can also provide necessary cleaning tools and prompts, at the boat ramp, so people can learn to do it themselves,” said Conzemius. “Clean Drain Dry is about empowering the practice.”The Wildlife Forever Clean Drain Dry Initiative is the national campaign to educate outdoor recreational users on how to prevent the spread of invasive species. Strategic communications, marketing, outreach and educational services provide access to consistent messaging and tailored AIS prevention planning.
