King Salmon Counts Are Amazing
The Alaska Department of Game and Fish Sonar counts average for the last 3 to 5 years on the Nushagak River were just under 100,000 counted fish. With the beginning of the run starting the second week of June and slowing down mid way through July.
Whether you want to fish for 8 hours or 20 hours, the Kings are going to be running. The spell that the Nush puts on you as you cast out your pole in hopes that the big one is out there waiting for just you to reel her in is tantalizing. Whether it’s your first or tenth time, you can feel that the mystery and the magic of fishing is alive as it breathes over you. |
