April 17 The New Date For Homer Winter King Salmon Tournament

There’s now a date in place for the Homer Winter King Salmon Tournament: April 17.

Here’s more from the event’s website:

Make your plans now to join us for the 27th Annual Homer Winter King Salmon Tournament on SATURDAY, APRIL 17, 2021.  In order to provide the safest possible event for our anglers and the community, we have moved to this NEW later date for 2021 so we could better prepare to accommodate COVID related concerns.  Weather should be better so we can use more outdoor spacing for the weigh in area, public gathering elements are being modified for more spacing and more of the registration process can be done online.

We missed you in 2020 but look forward to hosting Alaska’s premier fishing tournament once again in 2021.  This one-day tournament awards tens of thousands of dollars in prize money to the largest Kings caught.  There are additional opportunities to compete in side tourneys and random prize drawings every hour of the tournament. In 2019 Shayna Perry was the first woman champion with a fish weighing 26.7 lbs.  Shayna’s total payout including side tourneys was $79,997.50. In 2019, the total tournament cash awards were $171,062.50.

We want this to be a fun and safe event for everyone so contact us if you have any questions: Homer Chamber of Commerce (907) 235-7740, info@homeralaska.org.
