Alaska Board of Fisheries Announces the 2020-2021 Proposal Book

The Alaska Board of Fisheries (board) announces the 2020-2021 Proposal Book is now available. The board accepted 275 proposals for review during its Prince William Sound finfish and shellfish, Southeast and Yakutat finfish and shellfish, and all shellfish Statewide regulatory meetings. These proposals constitute proposed regulatory changes for the identified regions and species.

Proposals may be downloaded off the board’s website at https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=fisheriesboard.proposalbook. Given reductions to State budgets, proposal books will not be published for hardcopy distribution.

At the board’s September 16, 2020, special meeting to review its 2020/2021 meeting schedule in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the board determined it would postpone the December 2020 Prince William Sound Finfish and Shellfish and the Southeast and Yakutat Finfish and Shellfish meetings to a date to be determined (TBD) in the spring of 2021.

The board will consider new meeting dates for the Prince William Sound and Southeast meetings at its October 15-16 Work Session. The board will also consider if there are issues and proposals that are urgent in nature and must be acted on sooner than the anticipated dates of the Prince William Sound and Southeast meetings.

Proposals in the book will be reviewed at the following 2020-2021 meetings:
